Aspen Court, a 72 bedded care home situated within Poplar in London. The care home provides accommodation for residents of various ages and different health conditions together with nursing and dementia care.
The Friends have been involved with the home for the past 10 years helping the care home out including funding various events and items for the residents over the years. Friends are currently hosting monthly coffee mornings giving the residents the opportunity to socialise with people from the local community whilst enjoying a cup of hot beverage and sweet treats.
In December of 2025, Friends of Aspen Court helped Aspen Court Care Home celebrate Christmas. Friends provided 72 stockings for the care home residents including items like nail varnish and nail files for the female residents and shaving brushes for the male residents, along with little games such as Christmas word search books, and fluffy socks, lip balms and chocolate buttons in each type of stocking as well.
“The Christmas party was pajama-themed, and it’s great because nobody feels like they are left out. Some of the residents don’t have families and we want to include everyone, especially for the holiday,” Sharon, the activities coordinator at the home explained.
The Christmas stockings event is a great and important way to make all the residents of the care home feel cared for and special.
